Margaret Quinn Knoche 10/25/2005 4 photos Peg was born in New Canaan the youngest of seven children. Her parents were Irish immigrants. Her father worked as a chauffer and her family lived on his employer's estate. Peg's father died when she was in the eighth grade and one of her brothers took over the job. Peg married Joseph Albert Knoche in 1944 and moved to Ridgefield. They later built a house on Joe's father's property on Pelham Lane near Weir farm. Joseph John Knoche was a German immigrant who made his living as a stone mason. He did stonework for J. Alden Weir and later for Weir's daughters, Dorothy Weir Young and Cora Weir Burlingham. |
