Wendell Cultice 03/13/2006 WW2OH Wendell was born on a farm in Xenia, Ohio in 1922. He was one of six children. His father became widowed and married a woman that had five children and together they had five more children. During the Depression the Cultice farm was known by the hobos traveling nearby as a safe place to get a meal and some rest in the barn. Wendell enlisted in 1943 After basic training he was sent to Europe and assigned to a quartermaster group. He served in the quartermaster corps during the Battle of the Bulge when the United States and its allies recruited every available soldier to hold back the German advancement. |
