Barbara Gavin Fauntleroy 04/24/2008 WW2OH Barbara Fauntleroy's father was General James M. Gavin, commander of the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II. General Gavin starting writing letters to Barbara when she was nine years old and continued for many years. These letter were compiled in a book entitled The General and His Daughter: The War Time Letters of General James M. Gavin to his Daughter Barbara. A copy of this book is in the Historical Society's library. |
