1959 photos of the constuction of the Donelly Plaza on Govenor Street. 1) House at the rear of Main Street buildings which was razed to make room for the plaza (Ridgefield Press building in the background; 2) Beginnings of the structure which would become the First National Store (FINAST); later GranCentral, Hayday, Balducci's... 3) The "tenement" that stood on the corner of Main and Governor and was moved to make way for the First National Bank. The other building, possiby a barn, was probably originally in that location. |
