Hal Hval 03/14/2006 WW2OH Hal wanted to attend the Naval Academy from a very young age. He did get his appointment and graduated during wartime in 1943. He was sent to the Pacific and was assigned to the light cruiser USS Nashville working in one of the ship's gun turrets. The Nashville went to the Phillipines, New Guinea, Australia,and numerous islands in the Pacific. Hal was stationed in Shanghai when the war ended. |
